FAQs

  • How Do I File an Insurance Claim?
In most circumstances, we can do the majority of the legwork for you. Your best bet is to call your insurance company first to be sure you are covered and find out what the deductible will cost you. You can call us and let us know which insurance company you deal with and we can possibly take care of it from there. When you call A&A Glass Ltd., please have your insurance information available such as your policy number and a contact number so we can better assist you.
  • How Are Windshields Replaced?
Windshields are attached to the vehicle body with urethane (windshield adhesive), so the first step in replacing a windshield is to cut away the old urethane from the vehicle. Then, both the vehicle and new windshield are cleaned and primed. New urethane is then applied to the body of the care, the windshield is mounted to the vehicle and the urethane is given time to cure.
  • How Long Does It Take to Replace a Windshield?
Most windshield replacements can be completed in 3-4 hours. During this time, we carefully remove and replace your windshield, and then the adhesive used to bond your windshield to your vehicle’s body is given time to cure until it is safe for driving. Without this curing time, your windshield could detach from your vehicle in an accident. The time necessary to reach “safe drive-away time” varies depending on the type of urethane used, the temperature, the humidity, and the type of airbag system.
  • Does A&A Glass Stock Other Replacement Auto Glass?
A & A Glass Ltd., has a large auto glass inventory, and in many cases, we have the necessary windshield in stock. If not, we can generally have the windshield delivered to us within 3-4 days. We do not immediately inventory other auto glass such as back, door and vent windows, simply due to the vast variety of vehicle makes and models and the relatively low demand for other types of glass. However, most replacement glass can be ordered and arrive within 2-4 days depending on the level of emergency. We are happy to temporarily poly the window at no charge until the replacement glass arrives.
  • What Role Do Windshields Play in the Safety of Vehicles?
Windshields fulfill 4 critical roles in vehicle safety: Providing visibility Supporting the passenger side airbag Preventing passengers from being ejected from the vehicle Preventing the roof from collapsing during vehicle rollover If your windshield is chipped, scratched, cracked or damaged in any way, it compromises the windshield’s ability to properly fulfill its designed safety features. But with A & A Glass Ltd., there’s no reason to take a chance with safety – we’ll repair or replace your windshield as needed, most of the time in only one day!
  • What Is a Rock Chip and Why Should I Get It Fixed?
Simply put, a windshield rock chip means that a stone damaged your windshield and cracked it. This damage can become visible as a circular bulls-eye, linear crack, star-shaped break or a combination of all three. Even when this damage occurs, the chances that this windshield or window can be repaired are still very high. For a low price, we can fix the rock chip and save you hundreds of dollars on a new windshield.
